Hammersmith Boxing Academy Educational Programmes
Hammersmith Boxing Academy and Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College offer young people ages 16 to 19 years a unique opportunity to be part of a successful programme that combines boxing, coaching and fitness with an emphasis on education and gaining a range of qualifications.
By making Hammersmith Boxing Academy programme part of your further education you will be able to combine your love of boxing with a learning environment.
Our academy prides itself on offering a unique opportunity to young athletes who are passionate about boxing and are looking to progress in their boxing career through competition or a coaching pathway.
Our programme has been specifically designed by a team of experts from both the boxing and education worlds to bring you a package that will open up a number of doors for your future.
As an academy student with us you will have the opportunity to enhance your technical skills with our national level coaches using state of the art equipment and full-size mobile boxing ring. You will learn the foundations of the sport through our tactical workshops, gain valuable work experience and achieve a range of recognised boxing related qualifications including Level 1 England Boxing Coaching Award as well as a range of other coaching and officiating qualifications. On top of this, you will have access to our sports and injury clinics and fully equipped gym with strength and conditioning programmes to ensure you stay at the top of your game.
Alongside your boxing programme you can choose to study one of our many full-time sports qualifications offered at a range of levels. This will give you the opportunity to acquire valuable knowledge and skills in a range of sports-related subject areas. Some of the qualifications you can choose to study with us include:
- BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport & Active Leisure
- BTEC Level 2 First Certificate in Sport
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Sport
- NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Activity Leadership
- TEC Level 3 90 Credit/Extended Diploma in Sport
- Level 3 Diploma in Physical Activity, Fitness & Exercise Science
Taking a qualification with us can help you work towards a career in any number of sports industries such as becoming a personal trainer, sports therapist, sports journalist, sports coach/community sports leader, sports internationalist, physical education teacher. Whatever your goals, we have a course that can help you achieve them.

Upcoming taster days will be held on the following Wednesdays – 18th March, 29th April, 27th May and 24th June between 16:00 – 18:00 in the exercise studio at Hammersmith Campus.

What qualifications or experience do I need to start this course (entry requirements)?
All applicants will have to pass an academic interview. An acceptable academic reference will also be required. Level 1: Pass an interview process and have an acceptable academic reference. A basic level of literacy and numeracy skill is required and will be tested prior to enrolment. Level 2: 4 GCSE’s at grade A-D (including Maths and English. Students with a lower grade in these subjects may still be considered but will be required to sit an appropriate literacy/numeracy qualification alongside their main programme). Level 3: 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above (including Maths and English, students who have a D in these subjects may still be considered but will be required to retake these alongside their main programme) OR a Level 2 Diploma in Sport at Merit/Distinction.
